By 2020, Russian MiG corporation plans to export 350 units of the upgraded version of the MiG-29 worth US $ 10-12 billion. Several CIS countries have shown an interest in upgrading MiG-29 in recent month, MiG deputy general director for marketing Vladimir Vypryazhkin was quoted by RIA Novosti. "First of all, these are Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine," Vypryazhkin said. According to him, more than 1,600 MiG-29 aircraft are currently in use in 29 countries. MiG-29 Fulcrum fighters are armed with a 30mm cannon, and air-to-air short and intermediate-range missiles, and are capable of carrying rockets and bombs.
