Turkmenbashi town to get free economic zone status in July

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan yesterday, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov instructed vice-primer Hydyr Saparliyev to finalize by the earliest possible date the normative-legal basis for creation of national tourist zones in Turkmenistan.

"Foreign investments will be used extensively to implement these large-scale projects. Turkmenistan will create the most favored treatment regime for those foreign companies and firms that would be prepared to invest in the construction of social-economic facilities on the sea cost," Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov said.

According to the head of state, the status of free economic zone of the town of Turkmenbashi will ensure the dynamic development of the resort infrastructure of the seaside and make it possible to fully use the tourist potential of the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

 It is expected that the first national tourist zone - the town of Turkmenbashi - will be inaugurated in the second half of July.
