Russian higher education establishments to accept Turkmen secondary education certificates

The Russian Federation Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science has posted official information on its website specifying the terms of submitting applications to the Russian higher education establishments in 2007 by people with secondary education certificates of foreign countries.
In particular, the document says that the Russian Federation Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science "will allow the entrance examination commissions of higher, secondary and primary vocational education establishments to accept, as an exception, documents of the state standard of secondary education issued in Turkmenistan.
At the same time the Russian Federation Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science conditions this offer on acquiring a certificate of equivalence by holders of Turkmen school-leaving certificates until January 1, 2008. It is stated that the Turkmen 9th form school-leaving certificate is accepted as a certificate of the primary education issued by the Russian education establishments for the 9th form school-leavers.
The exception for 2007 was also made for secondary education certificates issued in Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Uzbekistan and Estonia.
