This year 40,000 applicants to get higher education

During the sitting of Cabinet of Ministries Vice Premier H. Saparliev reported on the campaign on admission to higher educational institutions. This year 39,392 young men submitted their documents to the institutes. Preliminary examinations will start on August 4.

Summing up the report Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov stressed the enhancing of prestige of higher education among the youth and emphasized that the most talented and single-minded boys and girls, the best representatives of younger generation of Turkmen people would be admitted to the higher educational institutions.

Commenting on the report Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov touched upon the issues on preparation for new academic year in the context of educational reform carried out in the country. The President stated that all educational establishments of Turkmenistan would be supplied with new textbooks and the other training aids by the first of September. The Turkmen leader emphasized the necessity of organizing traditional school fairs and supplying the market with wide range of relevant goods.

The President noted that from the beginning of new academic year the Turkmen pupils and students would be trained in new programs envisaging introduction of new advanced educational technologies. In this concern the Turkmen leader stressed the necessity of supplying the schools with computer equipment. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov instructed the deputies of Mejlis to investigate the main point of the educational reform thoroughly and to be in the thick of things concerning beginning of new academic year.
