The ceremony of opening the Days of Georgian Cinematography on occasion to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia was held at the Magtymguly Turkmen State Musical and Drama Theater on 16 July.
The Embassy of Georgia in Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan organised the cultural action in collaboration with the Ministry of Broadcasting Activities of Turkmenistan.
Greeting and congratulating the guests on the remarkable event in the history of intergovernmental relations Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan Aleksi Petriashvili emphasized the importance and necessity of intensifying and expanding Turkmen-Georgian dialogue aimed at strengthening the traditional ties of friendship biding the two nations from ancient times and serving as a key to mutual understanding and confidence.
The film festival includes 5 best films Mimino, A Soldier’s Father, Don’t Grieve, The Melodies of Veriian Quarter and Merry Novel created by the Georgian cinematographers in different years and ranking among the classics of world cinematography.
The festival will last three days to 18 July inclusive.
