Green belt of developing megapolis

In the nearest future the modern ring road surrounding Ashgabat will be planted with greenery. During the sittings of the Cabinet of Ministers President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov emphasized the importance of large-scale program on improving and planting the road with greenery aimed at turning the native land into everlastingly blossoming garden. The specialists of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan as well as high-ranking officials of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Turkmen leader will plant trees in one section of the ring road. Besides, soon Honorable Presidents Alley will be created in the capital of Turkmenistan.

Thus, within the framework of the large-scale project on improving and planting greenery in Ashgabat and its settlements the green zone stretching along the Ashgabat ring road will connect with green plantations to be created between Anna and Gekdere and at the eastern part of the road. Three million saplings of shady and ornamental trees will be planted within the framework of the project. 880,000 young trees were planted in 26-km section of the road stretching from Archabil Street to Nizhniy Gekdere. The Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan allotted previously unused land at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains among 54 departments and organizations. The relevant services of Ashgabat Khyakimlik plant greenery in the roadsides and middle strip. The Ministry of Motor Transport and Motor Roads of Turkmenistan carries out the greenery planting campaign on the arterial roads Ashgabat-Karakum-Dashoguz and Turkmenbashi-Farab.

The Gek Gushak JSC established in 1999 coordinates the works on planting greenery carried out in Ashgabat and all over the country. The company introduces new technologies of growing planting stock taking the scales of greenery campaigns into account, gathers seeds, studies plants population and methods of controlling plant pests and diseases.
